Dear ICO membership,
It is an exciting time in Illinois as we witness significant growth and increased funding for arts organizations throughout the state. We at the Illinois Council of Orchestras (ICO) are proud to see our orchestras thriving in this post-pandemic world, supported by new initiatives from the Illinois Arts Alliance and the Illinois Arts Council. Over the past year, our efforts have flourished with the launch of our new website and CRM system, and the planning of future events for communities across the state.
As we close the chapter on the first 50 years of the Illinois Council of Orchestras, we look forward to providing even greater support to Illinois and its orchestras. I am honored to announce that the leadership of the Illinois Council of Orchestras continues to grow as well. Having served as Board President since 2018, it has been an absolute pleasure to work with many of you across the state and to help guide the organization through the challenging times of the pandemic. Succeeding me as President of the ICO Board of Directors will be Michelle Seibert, who has played significant roles in arts organizations across the state, including the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. Michelle has been a valued board member for several years and has greatly contributed to the planning of our conferences.
I am immensely proud of the ICO Board of Directors for our numerous accomplishments. After navigating the tumultuous pandemic, we reinstated the annual conference and invested in strategic growth with a new website and CRM platform. I look forward to continuing to support Michelle, the arts in Illinois, and our orchestral community as the ICO celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Thank you for being members of the Illinois Council of Orchestras. It is vital for our community to continue supporting each other and promoting arts education for everyone across our state. The orchestra world is stronger together, and I am excited to see further growth within the state in the coming years.
Sincerely,
Tim Corpus
